Christmas Wrap Up...sort of

Christmas is over.....for now. We have one left when we travel up north, but until then all signs of Christmas are put away - except for the toys ;-) We all had a great Christmas!! The kids smiled and giggled a lot and that's what matters! This year, after church Nana, Papa and (great) Grandpa came over for an amazing steak dinner followed by the children heading to bed to wait for Santa to deliver their gifts. Annddd....this year we dropped the ball :( we had to wake Kynzley up to set out cookies and milk for Santa and oats and an apple for the reindeer. Come on parents get with the program!!!!

On Christmas morning Kynzley was pumped and ready to go! She ran down the steps ready to tear into everything under the tree, Benton was just going with the flow - ha! As she tore into her first gift - boom - camera dies (of course) Ugh!!! Stop, Stop, Stop everything! Back a way from the gifts! Yes, I was that mean mommy on Christmas that made her stop, sit on the couch and wait for my camera to charge enough to catch some smiles. It didn't take long and then she dove right in! There were a lot of "Yes!!!", "I've always wanted this!", "OH. MY. GOODNESS!" It's so fun to watch her reaction. Benton opened his gifts but was more into the paper and bows that anything else! I think he was confused as to why his sister was running around and so excited :) Next year he'll be right along side her in excitement I'm sure!

Merry Christmas

I think we nailed it :)

I'm guessing she wanted this!

Hiding

Kynzley LOVES gum! Elfy ate all the gum but left her the icky white ones - she was NOT happy! He did leave her a note saying that if she had a good day he would bring her more.

Elfy's last day - he kept his word and brought her more gum, delivered their xmas jammies and left a note reminding them to behave this year so he comes back next year!

-We did miss taking a few pics: Elfy was taped to our mirror above the mantel and Jesse and Woody from Toy Story were shooting darts at him and he was also found one day in the toilet paper roll in our down stairs bathroom.

Mid December Update

Busy, busy, busy! We've been keeping busy! We celebrated my birthday, Francis has been traveling for work, Kynzley finished up her first winter session of YMCA activities, we've fit in some school activities and we are trying to keep our house under control from our crazy elf, Elfy, that visits every night.

What Elfy has been up to so far:

Snuggles
(Yes this is how Benton sleeps, surrounded by a ton of warm snugglies. He actually sleeps with the burp clothes over his face, but I had to move them for the picture.)

Kynzley has been very upset that Elfy has been using her tape to do his sneaky things - she had enough!

 'Oh Christmas tree!'

Kynzley, Benton and I walked through the Rotary Lights (again) with Kynzley's class last week. Kynzley had a blast with her friends and both kids LOVED Santa!

Success! (Benton actually loved Santa - lots of giggles, but when I grabbed my camera and took the picture he closed his eyes when the flash went off :-/ )

Run, Run Rudolph!

Kynzley ran her first race this weekend!!! She ran in the YMCA's Rudolph dash - it was so fun and so cute! Her cousin, McKenna, ran in a race a couple weekends ago which made Kynzley want to run one too - good thing there was one right around the corner to sign her up for :) The weather turned out perfect - not to windy and the sun was shining. She was so pumped! The night before she was talking to Nana on the phone and said "Nana! I'm running in a race! I'm going to win that medal! I'm going to leave those kids in the dust!" Ha! After a pancake breakfast served by the Y it was race time! She did great! It was a 'tad' bit disorganized during countdown (they started at 10 counted down to 5, stopped and it was silent, so a bunch of 3-4 year olds just took off when they felt like it) but Kynzley ended up finishing fourth place!!!! Go Kynz! As for Benton, he just hung out and flirted with the ladies - nothing new :)

All ready for the big race!

She colored a ginger bread ornament - blond hair and bow :)

And they're off!

Making her way to the front!

No joke - she actually considered stopping to pose

Fourth baby!
