Once again, we got lots of use out of the kids's costumes. We did the Halloween Enchanted Forest, safe trick or treat through the high school, trunk or treat at church and trick or treating on Halloween night. I know I'm candied out!! This year for Halloween night we changed things up a bit. Usually we go door to door around our neighborhood with our neighbor gals and then head to Grandpa's house to finish the evening. In the past we haven't had to worry about time and could do things at our own speed and when we were done we were done. This year, Halloween being on a Monday and Kynzley being in school, we seemed to be on a time crunch to fit everything in and make it home at a decent time for bed. We managed to do it! Instead of going around our neighborhood we headed into town and trick or treated at the local businesses and the village park. It was fun and Kynzley was able to meet up with classmates! Benton knew exactly what to do and had a blast as well!! We were able to stay on our time schedule and make it to Grandpas house when we predicted (crazy!). This was the kids's favorite part!!!! I managed to convince the kids to go to a couple of the neighbors house, but all they really wanted to do was help grandpa pass out popcorn. The two of them worked very well together! The doorbell would ring and Benton's eyes would light up, he would dart to the door and open it and Kynzley would pass out the popcorn to the trick or treaters. Kynzley said she really liked putting the popcorn in the buckets and saying "here you go. Here you go..." LOL!
Kynzley is already trying to plan a great costume for next year and of course is looking forward to helping grandpa pass out his treats again!
Beautifying our pumpkins!
The kids and I went the painting route and Francis carved his
Safe Trick or Treat at the high school!
The kids had a blast!!! Classroom to classroom collecting treats, games and prizes in the library, dinner accompanied by music and a Halloween costume contest!
Benton and his prize - he won in his age group (birth to school age) for the Halloween costume contest
Winner, Winner, chicken dinners! These three walked away with Halloween costume contest prizes!!
We participated in our church's Halloween trunk or treat this year! We stuck with our theme :-) The kids loved going truck to truck (one being a space ship that they climbed in and "took off"!) and playing the games.
Happy Halloween 2016
First grade!
In line to get their candy at the park
Besides Halloween activities we squeezed in some friend time as well! The weekends seem to get away from us with activities, when we have a free one we eat it up! This past weekend we had a girls day in the woods! Kynzley and I hit the trails with our friends and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We had a great time! The girls loved climbing all the rocks and finding different "adventures".
